Sustainability is becoming increasingly important, and this also applies to the horticulture sector. The market and society are changing, and so is MPS. This means the MPS-ABC certification requirements will have to be amended as well. The most important changes are listed below. The new standard will take effect at the end of 2020.

 

 

The new MPS-ABC scheme requirements call for innovation and adaptation of the way usage is recorded. Moreover, correct and user-friendly registration is in your and our interest. That is why we have updated the record keeping tool. This system replaces the current MY-MPS (ACTRES). With the new record keeping tool, entering usage data becomes even easier, more efficient and more user-friendly.

The most important changes at a glance

– Record-keeping of every application of crop protection agents and fertilisers will become mandatory.
– Requirements with regard to the purchase of starting materials and additional purchasing are being tightened, so that the chain is closed further.
– Record-keeping with retroactive effect becomes more difficult.
– Checks are put in place for legal authorisation of crop protection agents per country.

When will the changes be implemented?
The new record-keeping system will be introduced in phases starting in January 2020. We will let you know when you will switch to the new record-keeping system.

What are the benefits?

– You will find it very easy to keep track of your record-keeping on your smartphone or tablet.
– The updated record-keeping system offers optional input fields that can be used to meet the more extensive record-keeping requirements of MPS-GAP and GLOBALG.A.P., among others.
– The renewed record-keeping system offers the possibility to choose at which level of detail you set up the cultivation plan. This offers the possibility to track crops and/or batches in terms of substance use.
– In the updated record-keeping system it is possible to keep track of stock, whereby recorded usage is automatically deducted from the stock.
