Last Tuesday, 7 November, during the kick-off of the Royal FloraHolland Trade Fair Aalsmeer, MPS and Decorum signed a framework agreement. In this framework agreement, it is agreed that by means of the services of MPS, Decorum and its affiliated members are being supported to become more sustainable. The framework agreement covers certification according to FSI guidelines. This includes the certification services MPS-ABC, MPS-GAP and MPS-SQ and the HortiFootprint Calculator.
Raymond Scheepens (Area Manager) was present on behalf of MPS and signed the framework agreement together with Stef de Jong (Association Affairs & Business Development Manager) at Decorum. He was accompanied by Charl Goossens of Gova (grower).
Currently, a Dutch grower meets FSI guidelines when they have an MPS-ABC and MPS-GAP certificate. Decorum has the ambition to act as a forerunner in sustainability and therefore encourages its members to also obtain an MPS-SQ certificate and have their footprint calculated using the HortiFootprint Calculator. The aim is to market the most sustainable product possible, but also to gain insight into the impact of the products. Based on these insights, growers can actively work to reduce the footprint.
The signed framework agreement will take effect from 1 January 2024 and will run for three years. Currently, a framework agreement is already in place until the end of 2023. As MPS, we are proud of the renewal of this cooperation and look forward to contributing to the sustainability of Decorum and its members!
