All suppliers (cooperative members and non-members) will be required by Royal FloraHolland to have a digital environmental record-keeping by 31 December 2020 at the latest and an environmental certification in line with the market by 31 December 2021 at the latest. Ultimately, Royal FloraHolland envisages that all suppliers to the marketplace will also comply with the FSI social sustainability norms, and those relating to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

MPS has made every effort to meet the preconditions and to make the threshold for growers to start with digital environmental record-keeping as low as possible. For example, we will help by providing personal service when starting the environmental record-keeping. In addition, we have launched a new user-friendly digital record-keeping environment.

The objectives of mandatory environmental certification are also of paramount importance to MPS. This includes making the grower’s sustainability efforts transparent and measurable, improving the reputation of the entire sector and chain-wide cooperation in the field of sustainability.
